VRS, Inc.
NuCycle Technologies, a Knoxville-based corporation that is owned by VRS, Inc., takes empty printer cartridges and refurbishes them. Beginning in 1974, the idea for recycling printer ribbons appealed to Tom Stokes. Mr. Stokes opened NuCycle Technologies when printer technology changed from ribbons to toner cartridges.
VRS, owned by Dustyn McCarty and Clinton McCarty, was formed in 2006 to purchase the assets of NuCycle Technologies. Clinton McCarty was a past NuCycle employee.
NuCycle sells refurbished toner and inkjet cartridges, but it also provides a repair service and the Remote Print Management service, which helps clients find out why their company is losing money on printing.
